About

Hi, I'm Nandika.

I've worked in IT for more than 20 years. I started gadgetgenie to help people around Blakeview get their technology working, without the stress, the jargon or the wait on hold.

I take my time, explain what I'm doing as I go, and make sure you're comfortable before I leave. No question is too small.

Questions

Common questions

Do you work on weekdays?

My appointments are on Saturdays and Sundays. You can send a request any day of the week and I'll get back to you, usually within a day.

What if the job only takes 15 minutes?

Home visits have a 1 hour minimum, so it's worth saving up a few small jobs for the same visit. Remote help has a 30 minute minimum, which suits quick fixes.

Is remote help safe?

Yes. You install a trusted remote support app, read me a one-time code, and watch everything I do on your screen. You can end the session at any time. I only connect when you have booked me and asked me to.

Someone called saying they're from Microsoft. Was that you?

No. I will never call you out of the blue or ask to connect to your computer unless you've booked me. Microsoft, Telstra and banks don't do this either. If you get a call like that, hang up. If you're worried you've been scammed, get in touch and I'll help you check your computer.

What should I have ready?

The device, any new equipment (still in the box is fine), and your passwords: email, Apple ID or Google account, and Wi-Fi. Can't find a password? Don't worry, I can help you reset it.

Do you help businesses?

Yes. Small offices and home businesses: computers, printers, email, Wi-Fi and backups. Weekend visits mean your team isn't interrupted.

How do I pay?

Cash or card on the day. For remote help, I send you a secure card payment link after the session.
